THE STUDEBAKER CHAMP, A MID SIZED, LIGHT DUTY TRUCK ENGINEERED WITH THE FRONT HALF OF THE LARK 4 DOOR SEDAN, AND A WIDE CARGO BOX FROM THE DODGE C-SERIES. IT HAS A CHROME HORIZONTAL BAR GRILLE FOR A TOUGHER LOOK THAN THE LARK. THIS ONE HAS THE 259 V8 WITH THE 3 SPEED FLIGHT-O-MATIC AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IT HAS SOLID AXLES FRONT AND REAR JUST LIKE THE GM, FORD, DODGE, AND IH TRUCKS. BY DECEMBER 1963, STUDEBAKER CLOSED ITS SOUTH BEND, IN PLANT AND PRODUCTION OF THESE TRUCKS. ONE OF THE FEATURES OF THE 1960-1964 CHAMP WAS THE SLIDING REAR WINDOW. IT HAS A FULL SET OF P205/75/R 15 COKER CLASSIC WIDE WHITEWALL RADIAL TIRES. THIS ONE HAS A STRAIGHT BODY WITH LITTLE OR NO RUST AND SURVIVOR PAINT AND MOST OF IT'S ORIGINAL FEATURES. THIS ONE IS A V8 AUTOMATIC, WITH DUAL EXHAUST AND A SLIDING REAR WINDOW. IT WAS BUILT TO PROVIDE TRUE CAR-LIKE COMFORT WITH A WIDE BENCH SEAT, STYLED INTERIOR, AND A TRUCK BED. THIS STYLE WAS NOT SEEN AGAIN UNTIL THE LATE 1960s AND EARLY 1970s.
